Chocolate is invigorating.
Chocolate cures all ills. If you don't agree, try some of this. . .
Searching for recipes from Australia, I came across a recipe for a chocolate trifle. I have no idea what the recipe had to do with Australia, but I am pleased to have found this. It has already been stated how wonderful chocolate is, but to have a recipe that is simple yet looks so elegant is a prize in it self. As often I do, I switched some things to make the recipe suit my taste {such as replacing freshly whipped cream for frozen whipped topping}. If anyone has any idea what this recipe has to do with Australia, let me know.
Brownie Trifle
1 batch of brownies, baked and cooled {here's my favorite home made brownies}
1 pint heavy whipping cream, plus 1 cup
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 5.1 oz box chocolate instant pudding mix, prepared according to package*
chocolate bar shavings {optional}
Whip heavy cream and vanilla until thickened and begins to hold shape. Cut brownies into one inch cubes. Place half of the brownies into a trifle dish or a large clear bowl. Gently fold 1 1/2 cups of whipped cream into the prepared chocolate pudding. Layer half of the chocolate pudding/cream mix on top of the brownies in the trifle dish. Add half of the whipped cream on top of the chocolate. Repeat with remaining ingredients in same fashion. If desired, top with chocolate shavings.

You have no idea how good this would taste right now!
ReplyDeleteThis is so dreamy. I love trifles and my favorite flavor for trifle is the chocolate variety but I have never had it with brownies. Way better than chocolate cake in my opinion. I am with you, the fresh whipped cream is the best for the top!
ReplyDeleteOh my ..... all I can seem to say is "please pass a fork". Yum, Sheila!! This looks absolutely delicious.
